Find those images again!

What is Simple Image Viewer?

Probably your hard disk is full of digital images, cartoons and other graphics stuff. Ever wanted to find that really funny cartoon for your boss again? The picture of your friend with the silly look on his face?

With SIV, you can scroll through the images in a quick and efficient way. Besides, SIV comes as a single file and does not require installation

SIV is therefore ideal to distribute with your digital media. Simply put a copy of SIV on any of your CD ROMS, and you are able to view the pictures on any Windows computer.

How to work with SIV?

SIV has six screen elements, as you can see in the screenshot below:

freeware image viewer

  1. Select a drive, in case you have multiple (logical) drives or when you are connected to a network
  2. Select the directory your files are stored in
  3. Select the image
  4. Select the image type to show (jpg, bmp)
  5. Apply a few settings:
  6. Proportional: keeps length/width in the same proportions
Stretch: makes the image fit the window size
Center: center the image inside the window

  7. The image itself. You can enlarge it by maximizing the window and by dragging the left column to its smallest size needed.

Where to get SIV?

Download the simple image viewer here, or its cousin InteractivePresentation here. Both SIV and InteractivePresentation are distributed as freeware.

Therefore, we can't offer responsibility or support of any kind. (However, the risk is minimal since SIV works as a standalone file and does not require installation nor any other files.)

You are allowed to include the unchanged version of SIV on any media you happen to publish, for commercial or personal use.

Note: If you are looking for a free viewer with presentation facilities, take a look at this digital photo software called InteractivePresentation.
